As the largest law enforcement region by area, Region VI stretches across 63,000 square miles and includes the Panhandle and the Llano Estacado. Vast patrol areas and the state’s most extreme weather conditions are a constant challenge in this region. Although water is limited here, ensuring public safety in the shallow waters of the Red, Canadian, and Brazos rivers presents unique challenges for Texas Game Wardens.
Search and Rescue Thermal Drone Kit
$40,000 each
(3 needed)
When natural or other disasters strike, Region VI Game Wardens will be better equipped to respond quickly and effectively to life-saving search and rescue emergencies, thanks to the enhanced capabilities afforded by the latest thermal drone technology. These drones can be rapidly deployed to assess large or hard-to-reach areas in real time, providing critical situational awareness within minutes of arriving on scene. In addition to their role in disaster response, drones are also used in routine patrols to monitor remote areas, support surveillance operations, and enhance overall enforcement efforts.

Advanced Thermal and Night Vision Optics
$3,000-$4,000 each
(10+ night vision needed and 4 thermal needed)
The purchase of anti-poaching equipment such as night vision and thermal imaging will help Region VI game wardens stop night hunters who trespass on private land to illegally poach game. This specialized equipment is also valuable for our game wardens who serve as first responders during times of natural disaster, performing hazardous search and rescue operations day and night.
